Skinvisible Seeks Patent For Innovative Sunscreen Composition

Skinvisible, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SKVI) announced that it has filed a patent application for its unique sunscreen composition that utilizes the Company’s patent-pending Invisicare® polymer-based delivery systems and related technologies.

Proven advantages of the Skinvisible sunscreen formulation include its ability to bond with the skin thereby holding active sunscreen agents in place for extended periods of time, resisting wash-off, and providing longer persistence in water. Independent clinical studies have demonstrated successful results which allow labeling as "Very Water Resistant with an SPF of 30" in accordance with FDA Final Sunscreen Monograph requirements.

"Of significant note however" says Skinvisible Chemist, Dr. James Roszell, "is that our formulation is exceptional as much for what it doesn’t contain, as for what it does!" He went on to explain that because of its Invisicare® delivery system technology and manufacturing methodology for combining water soluble and insoluble polymers, Skinvisible's composition offers superior skin protection qualities without requiring the use of conventional sunscreen delivery ingredients such as petrolatum, silicones, waxes or alcohol.

With an estimated 40 to 50% of Americans who live to age 65 at risk to develop some form of skin cancer during their lifetime, the importance of awareness and protection from the sun is enormous.

Skinvisible has developed a number of suncare formulations under the umbrella of its sunscreen composition, including sunscreens, lip balms, skin moisturizer creams, and after-sun lotions. Skinvisible presently markets its polymer delivery systems both as product ingredients for established brand manufacturers, and included in finished product formulations for private label clients.

This latest application takes the number of pending patents for the Company to five. It anticipates additional applications for a variety of over-the-counter (OTC) formulations utilizing Invisicare® delivery systems to follow.

Headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, Skinvisible, Inc. is focused on the development of innovative topical polymer-based delivery systems and related technologies incorporating its patent-pending formula/process for combining hydrophilic and hydrophobic polymers into stable water emulsions. Skinvisible’s primary marketing and sales objectives are to license its technologies and/or sell its delivery systems to provide enhanced product performance for established brand manufacturers and providers of prescription, over-the-counter, cosmetic, and skincare products.
